A Story for
The fourth edition of the short film script competition "A
story for EMERGENCY."
From December 5 for all boys and girls aged between 16 and 25, it will be possible to register for the film contest dedicated to the theme of rights, peace and solidarity.
"A Story for EMERGENCY" is aimed at the younger generation by inviting them to write the
screenplay of a short film to stimulate an original and complex narrative on
sensitive issues, offering careful and specialized listening to their story proposals for the
cinema and the possibility of turning them into short films thanks to the collaboration with FABULA
PICTURES and RAI CINEMA.
The call is part of the activities to promote a culture of peace by
EMERGENCY, which has always believed that cinema can help trace the
road to equality, peace and the protection of rights.
Screenplays eligible for nomination by February 29, 2024, must be suitable for the
production of a short film with a minimum length of 3 minutes, must be
original and unpublished. The jury will select the best based on the criteria of quality,
originality, relevance to the assigned theme and production feasibility. The screenplay
winner will then be produced by Fabula Pictures and the resulting short film will be
then promoted in concert by the initiative's partners and will be viewed exclusively on Rai Play
and Rai Cinema Channel.

For this fourth edition, the evaluation of the entries will be carried out by a jury
composed of Nicola De Angelis (Fabula Pictures), Fulvio Firrito (Rai Cinema), Gaia
Furrer (Venice Days artistic director), Michela Greco (EMERGENCY), Greta
Scarano (actress and director), Nicola Sorcinelli (director) and Ilaria Ravarino (journalist of Il
Messenger).
Participation in the competition is free of charge. It will be possible to apply by filling out the forms
